
Five Herbs In My Herbal Garden

The feedback form these videos were fantastic! I’m so glad you enjoyed the videos, and I plan to do a YouTube video on it again in a few weeks!
The biggest feedback I got was how informational the herbal garden was. Which if you’ve been with me for a bit you know how much I love gardening, let alone, my herbal garden. A lot of these herbs you can find in my book along with a ton of other herbs that I love.
There is something SO powerful about not only knowing where your food comes from, but having a means to medicine right in your back yard.
So here are 5 herbs in my herbal garden that I will NEVER be without when I plant my garden.
Chamomile
This versatile plant isn’t only beautiful and a great pollinator, its a great medicinal little plant as well.
When we think of chamomile, we think of calming. Thats exactly what this little delicate flower does. In fact, just picking them can calm you down. Chamomile tea is delicious for humans, but also can be used to spray on seedlings to prevent fungal infections that kill young plants. Or simply companion planting with chamomile, its anti- fungal properties can help plants that are prone to mildews, molds, fungus and more.
Helps nervousness, irritability, adult whining, baby teething, headaches, pain relieving, ulcers, gastritis, diarrhea, candida overgrowth, constipation, toddler colic, canker sores, pms symptoms. Helps most skin ailments such as burns, sores, wounds.
Comfrey
This controversial herb is a must for our family, not only because its in our herbal tallow, but because its extremely wonderful for your skin. Its root system goes down as far as 6 feet, pulling extremely nutritious elements out of the soil, making it a powerful herb.
You’ll notice comfrey has big leaves that are slightly furry, and as I’ve said before, furry leaves tend to be good for respiratory systems. It’s a fantastic herb for pneumonia, coughs, asthma and more. It aids in collagen production, and contains allantoin, which aids in skin cell growth. It's great for healing wounds, cuts and burns, and good for psoriasis and eczema, it's also a fantastic remedy for added healing on broken bones.
Lemon Balm
Lemon balm is a member of the mint family, and is great for cooking, medicinal use, and aromatherapy. Bees are very attracted to this plant, making it a great addition to help pollinate your garden. It’s a wonderful friend for the cardiovascular and nervous system. Leaves can be harvested anytime during its growing season.
Wonderful for anxiety, depression, insomnia. Really calms the nervous system. Helps with heart, and high blood pressure. Helps digestions, calms the stomach, helps colic, vomiting, flu, colds, fever, headaches. “nervous stomach”. Helps with herpes, pms, irritability. Topically can be used in first aid to help heal wounds.
Echinacea

This tall and mighty flower is both gorgeous and beneficial. Also known as the Purple Cone Flower It has a real affiliation towards sore throats, and is one of the top immune boosting herbs in the herbal world. It’s most effective when taken during the early stages of being ill. It’s a fantastic remedy for tonsillitis, bronchitis, and strep throat.
Helps with many skin ailments including stings, swelling, wounds, boils, hives. Fantastic for strep throat, sore throat, tonsillitis bronchitis, colds, flu, fever, pneumonia. Helps with swollen lymph nodes. Immune boosting, and flights against bacteria and viruses.
Holy Basil
Holy basil is believed to help maintain and restore vitality in the body and mind. It's one of the oldest medicinally used basils. It’s believed to promote long life and clarity in health. I take holy basil to revitalize my energy after being sick.
Restores energy, helps with nausea, gas, stomach cramps, flu, cold, fevers. Helpful during staph infections, fungal infections, bronchitis, cough, expelling phlegm. Eases the nervous system. Helps with anxiety, depression and stress.
