Chicken Bacon Penne

Chicken Bacon Penne

When it comes to my children eating, they eat pretty well, and I am SO thankful for that. But they definitely have their meals that they absolutely love. One of which is Chicken Bacon Penne. For whatever reason, they will ask for bowl after bowl after bowl of this– and honestly… so will we as adults. Its delicious and very easy to make.

It’s a fantastic meal that can be spiced up with an added spices like cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes, or left alone. In the summer I also love to throw spinach and cherry tomatoes in it for added flavor and color. But when I don’t have extra vegetables, and don't want the added heat, the original chicken and bacon adds just enough to the pasta that its one you’ll find yourself going in for another scoop.

I make this meal with fresh off the bone chicken breasts, that we raised. Along with our naturally cured bacon that we also raised. Honestly my biggest recommendation is to not skimp on your bacon with this, the “bacon bits” you put on your salad won’t cut it. You’re really going to want to fry some good bacon because it makes the flavor so much better. (don’t forget to keep a slice for yourself as a snack while making this dish.)

When making the sauce I use raw cream, that's freshly scraped from the cream line. But just heavy cream will do! Cream is one of my favorite things about purchasing raw milk. Its my absolute favorite, and I really feel it makes everything taste so much better.

I mean, let’s be honest does it get better that chicken and bacon? I feel like those two meats were absolutely made for each other. This dish is perfect for a Sunday evening meal, grab a pasta bowl and have a family dinner. If you make this let me know.
