When it comes to good food I think we automatically think of thanksgiving meals. At least thats how it is for me. I’m usually in charge of the bread and have been searching and playing around with recipes for the perfect thanksgiving bread rolls to bring to the meal.

I found a recipe and tweaked a couple of things for the pinwheels. They were so good they hardly made it to supper. The perfect amount of seasonings and garlic made these rolls delicious! These are sure to be a hit for your next meal!

  • 1 cup warm water 110-115
  • 1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
  • dab honey
  • 2 cup bread flour
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tbsp softened butter
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 6 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1/8-1/4 cup graded parmesan

Instructions

  • mix water, yeast, a dab of honey together until bloomed (a foamy top forms)
in a separate bowl mix flour, softened butter, salt, honey and then pour in yeast mixture once bloomed.
    knead 5 minutes
place in a bowl and let it rise (about 1.5 hours)
Turn dough out on floured surface (meaning, to put the dough down on the floured surface then flip it over)
    roll out into 12×9 rectangle.
Butter the top with softened butter and sprinkle, garlic, oregano, parsley, parmesan (real fresh graded parmesan makes a huge differences, its worth it!)
roll up the long way, cut into 12 slice. Place into a buttered or sprayed 9×13 pan. cover, and Rise for 30 minutes
once risen, cook at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
    share and enjoy!!

  1. Are you supposed to mix the yeast mixture UNTIL it blooms, or do you mix all ingredients and wait for the blooming?

    1. hi Deanna! when make this I generally combine water, yeast and a little bit of honey in a measuring cup, and in the mean time mix all my other ingredients into a separate bowl and wait for my bloom! if this was a little confusing I’m sorry, I’ll adjust this on the instructions!
